Esophageal ulcer.
Wednesday, May 26, 2010 @ 8:39 AM

I've been suffering for the past 1 week, Esophageal ulcer. The pain is excruciating and the involving region is at my upper abdominal, near my chest. It also resembles chest pain (some kind of squeezing cum burning pain) and pain scale is 9/10. Initially, I thought it will recover on it's own but due to the hydrochloric acid (PH2)- in the gastric, it's rather impossible; and if I didn't seek treatment, internal bleeding will probably occur. It started since thursday, the day when I went vehicle shed to do OVM with Collin and Gordon. The pain was relatively tolerable back then and it worsened day by day- all the way till saturday night, when I finally decided to consult the doctor as I couldn't even eat or drink!

I hesitated, as the following day was book in day (I mean, early book in day). Seeing the doctor will totally make me a typical fake-illness-NSF (Chao Keng) that wants to dodge (siam) activities (And of course, we're having Full Troop Exercise for the whole of this week!) in the army. Nevertheless, I proceeded as the pain scale shot up beyond tolerable level. It was doleful and censurable- My comrades are suffering out there in the field, and I'm here, lying on the bed being a pussy. The very least I could do is to pray for good weather in my current forlorn state.

Is my illness inevitable? Or did I purposely ingest something that will cause this ulcer so I can skip FTX? We cannot avoid comments from others can we?

Initially,I was warded (for three days) for observation only. They used the baby scanning thing (the 1 with the funny gel) and diagnosis was gastritis. But my description didn't correlate with the gastritis's signs and symptoms. So, they sent me for Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy (OGD) the following day. It's a procedure whereby they put some camera tube through your buccal cavity, down your oesophagus, and capture image of the upper digestive tract. (all the way to the duodenum) It can also emit some funny heat rays to stop internal bleeding. I saw the image myself, it looked something like the above. (without the superfluous juice)

Talking about misdiagnosis, the 1st doctor that saw me in the morning thought I was there to CK and he gave me some muscle rub and told me to go home. He told me my diagnosis was muscle pain and that was totally retarded. I obviously know that there's something to do with the gastrointestinal tract and he, The Great Doctor,
can "explicitly" diagnose me wrongly. Mum was furious when I told her about it and she wants to sue the doctor for negligence. But her son persuaded her not to, as sueing a doctor is probably not an easy procedure.

ANYWAY, it's hurting less now but eating is still a painful process.
