Concluded Incredible India 2010.
Friday, April 2, 2010 @ 11:32 AM
Away from civilisation, a million miles away from an island called home. The aircraft took off, the aircraft stopped. And in a blink of an eye, I was found wandering in this huge piece of land, India.
My Incredible !ndia trip was mirthful, at least alot more pleasant than I imagined. I captured 300 over photographs and obviously it's out of my limits to upload them all.
Touched down at India with my packet. YeKai's my buddy throughout the entire trip (: A very benevolent buddy I would say. Right after touching down, we proceeded to some Paradise Banquet place for Supper and stayed overnight till the train's ready for boarding. I was a little paranoid, thinking that food in India is incongruous and therefore consuming it will definitely grant us some heavy discharge of liquid through the anus. And thus, I didn't finish the food.
So far the meals served are all Buffet, OTOT eat up, drink up and whatsoever.
A photo with JiaHuang and buddy before everyone knocked off for the night. And next, a train ride to Jhansi for some exercise.
Train ride was pretty long. The boundless hours burnt in the train made me wonder, how many Singapore-s have we travelled through. Anyway, the ride was pretty much of a sight seeing experience. Many didn't give a damn and slept throughout the trip. The train's toilet's pretty cool. Basically a hole. What goes in, drops onto the track directly. Pretty awesome eh? They call it the Indian Style.
After arriving at Jhansi, we took a crazy bus ride to a certain place for a certain exercise. Traffic there was beyond imagination. I was flabbergasted. We had zero road accident count and I'm not even exaggerating. Traffic's really in chaos. You see motorcycles everywhere with 3-4 people on it, WITHOUT HELMET, weaving in and out of vehicles. They don't treasure their lives don't they?
Next, Taj Mahal, Agra. Wonder of the World.
After our arrival @ Agra (6 hours bus ride), we had our pre-Taj Mahal lunch at this Jaypee Palace Hotel (5 stars). And wow, no joke. It's no doubt 5 stars.
After an intensive security check, we finally manage to enter the Hotel for lunch. And of course, Buffet again.
The hotel was luxurious, magnificent and probably costly. Totally didn't expect such accomodations.
Before we leave for Taj Mahal. A photo outside Jaypee Palace Hotel.
Finally, I cuddled one of the Wonders of the World. Taj was really beautiful at the exterior, it's said to be symmetrical at all 4 sides of the tomb.
It was built by a muslim, Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife and queen Mumtaz. The mausoleum is a part of a vast complex comprising of a main gateway, an elaborate garden, a mosque (to the left), a guesthouse (to the right), and several other palatial buildings. The Taj Mahal in Agra, India, is a mesmerizing sight. This beautiful marble structure is considered to be aesthetically perfect in its design.
At the mausoleum itself with the peeps. Credits to Mr Yap.
Molesting Jezer.
Had a short F&E at tdi mall near our Jaypee Palace Hotel.
And it's time to check in with buddy. Dinner was the same Banquet at the dining hall in the afternoon.
From the lobby to our respective rooms. 2 pax/room.
The accomodations were fantastic. A super shiok sofa for malays to lepak one corner and also, watch television :D
A desk for business personnel to do work I suppose? It's quite condusive I would say.
The typical hotel bathroom. It's considered damn grand in India already.
How about some bubble bath after 3 weeks of exercise in rural area? How shiok is that?
A room balcony with pretty romantic vibes. Also a hot spot for smokers to smoke. Incredible India's so incredible that it makes non-smokers smoke!
Balcony view during the day. I swear the night view is 99x chio-er but camera couldn't capture a good one. :(
Was astounded by the catered breakfast as well. Grand buffet that serve authentic food world wide. Take all you want, what you want. F.O.C.
I took mince lamb stew, egg mayo (goddamn good), hot dog and potato (goddamn good).
Lotus Pond restaurant for lunch.
Nick trying to take picture of the food.
At the Indian gate, Delhi. There're water features there and you can see naked boys playing and bathing in the filthy water that stink real bad. I was a little revolted. I swear.
At the city walk mall near the Airport. It's one of the best malls in India. But honestly, nothing impressive. Vivo city's better. Don't even mention ion orchard.
Exterior of the SELECT CITY WALK mall.
Within the mall itself with ZK and YK. Bought some souvenirs, nike dry fit and a necklace to finish up my Rupees. And that kinda summed up the F&E shopping that we were all looking forward to. Disappointed..
Our last meal at India. Wasn't disappointing, atmosphere was pulchritudinous, food was delectable.
Some display in the restaurant.
A little packed? But still, the food was replenished very quickily so there was no problem getting my desired food.
Yea, no problem.
And the meal kinda summed up my story in Incredible !ndia.
On the aircraft before taking off. Flight was delayed terribly and I was sick. Suffered through the whole journey even until now.
PS/ This entry was summerized laboriously.
PSPS// Good bye Linus and Joseph. It was great working with them. Happy ORD-ing!
PSPSPS/// Learnt many valuable skills and knowledge from DR CASEY. It wasn't a wasted trip. Really.
